Combined Heat & Power
CHP is the simultaneous generation of electricity and usable heat from the same plant. A synchronous generator driven by a gas fired engine runs in parallel with the electricity authority supply thereby reducing greatly the electrical consumption from the mains. The heat generated by the engine in the form of hot water is fed into the building’s heating system.
