Our Birth

Temp Technology was formed in 1986 by three brothers, who were all electricians, and the wife of one of the brothers.  Initially the company’s activities were largely concentrated on the Energy Management Systems’ field, having developed it’s own system, the “Fuel-Miser”, in-house.  The company continued to manufacture and install computerised Energy Management Systems for commercial and industrial concerns until 1998 and had over 200 BEMS installations nation-wide.

1991

Combined Heat and Power

Temp Technology have been actively involved in the Combined Heat and Power (CHP) market since 1991 when, in association with ENER.G Combined Power of Manchester, they were responsible for the installation of the first small-scale CHP plant in Ireland in the Burlington and Berkeley Court Hotels.  Repeat business has accounted for a number of recent CHP contracts. These have included the Aura Leisure Group (Trim, Dundalk, Limerick, Tullamore  & Drogheda), Kingfisher Group (Waterford & NUIG), O’Callaghan Hotels, Davenport Hotel, Mont Clare Hotel, Alexander Hotel & Stephen’s Green Hotel respectively, the Office of Public Works (Leinster House, Royal Hospital Kilmainham, National Gallery of Ireland) and HSE West (Merlin Park Hospital, Portiuncula Hospital, University Hospital Galway).

2000

Awards & Recognition

Over the years Temp Technology have won numerous awards.  One such award was The Irish Energy Centre, Boiler Awards.  National Award Winner for Combined Heat and Power integration within a boilerhouse

2010

Trigeneration

Temp Technology Installed a Trigeneration System in Rochestown Park Hotel. Trigeneration takes cogeneration one stepfurther. Trigeneration is the simultaneous production of electricity and heat with the additional transfer of thermal energy to provide cooling for practical use.  Heat generated from the CHP system is converted using an absorption chiller to provide cold water to cool the building.  By adding the absorption chiller into a CHP system the user can increase the equipment’s operational hours, maximising the utilisation of the energy, which is of particular benefit in summer periods, thus reducing dependence on the more costly electrical air conditioning. Rochestown Park Hotel have enjoyed

these benefits since introducing a natural gas trigeneration system.
